Shayr Guthrie - Audiobook Narrator
Experience bringing stories to life
Having voiced thousands of VO projects, over 75 audiobook titles and with more than 25 years of experience - you can feel confident knowing you are in good hands. I'm an Atlanta based voice talent,
who truly loves to collaborate and bring stories to life.
My favorite books to narrate are Middle Grade, Small Town Romance, YA, Suspense/Thrillers, Women's Fiction, Cozy Mysteries, and Self Help. Anything Southern - with a splash of Appalachian is fun, too!
I record everything from Arcade 160 Studios in Atlanta, GA - which I own with my audio engineer/narrator husband, Jimmy Guthrie. We have a fully isolated sound booth that is equipped with a Sennheiser MKH416 microphone, Behringer interface, and GarageBand as my DAW.
When I'm not in the booth, you can find me photographing weddings, events and headshots. You might also find me going a "little overboard" in decorating for the holidays. Ha! I go to yoga, walk our pup, travel, host dinner parties, see bands (Jimmy is a musician), garden and attend UGA Football games. Go DAWGS!

"She doesn’t just read the words... she delivers the idea, the mood, and the message with complete clarity, without distractions, and without ego. I’ve sent her many scripts with my specific needs of how it should “feel”, and she always delivered: Soft, slow, fun, deliberate, urgent, an appeal, a directive, a demonstration, etc. She gets it!"

"She nails every take! And there have been multiple times I have a 30 second script, and needed it 1/2 a second faster, she gets it on the next take. She has a built-in stopwatch in her head!
I highly recommend her to anyone needing a world class voiceover!"
